I am not quite understanding some things at the moment. I have been sitting here in my friends dark room for hours now, pondering things, some darker than my normal pondering, but over all I am left with the singular question. Why dont we stand up for our rights any more? What happened to the 60's where when things were wrong, people took to the streets and protested. Why cant we do that anymore? Have we grown so apathetic that we care only for our own selfish needs, even if it leads to our own detriment? Its really depressing, and no one my age really sees it the way I do.

Our Economy is fucked, pardon my french (Although I dont think that word is french O_o), and we sit idly by and will complain to our friends frequently, but as to do something about it, why that would only require us to get off our collective ass and do something. Why dont we? Unemployment rates are increasing, the price of gas is outrageous, often consuming half if not all of a single pay check, prices of groceries are going up, and layoffs are becoming the norm. Yet Der Fuhrer says, "Spend more money, our economy is just fine". We are getting assurances from other government officials saying we are fine, but we the people know differently.

I guess most of all that I am disheartened that our generation cares so little for politics, which has become taboo for no one wants conflict of opinion anymore, or the world around them, that they go into their world of youtube and myspace, and as long as the moment feels good, the Government can do what they will to us, our civil liberties (A blog on this will be done soon), and our home land. Its really depressing, and I say its damn time we stood up for ourselves again. Take the spirit of the 60's and bring it back, use it to better this nation, and snap out of this daze we are in.
